Do I have to learn a difficult CAD program to use this software and does this software use CAD renderings?
No, Landscape Vision does not involve any CAD drawings or renderings. Our software application contains real photo images of plants and foliage. Just drag and drop your way to your dream landscape.
Does your software allow for multiple landscape designs?
Yes, you can landscape as many pictures, homes, gardens as your computer will hold. (Front yard, side yard, back yard, etc.)
Can I import my own images into Landscape Vision?
Yes, an exciting addition to our new version allows you to easily import your own plant images AND we let you add or replace any image in any of our categories. Walkways, Pavers, Plants, Arbors, Mulch.
How do I prepare an image to be importable?
The guidelines for preparing and image for import are as follows:
- must be a JPEG (.jpg) or GIF (.gif) image file type
- can be of any size but at least 150x150 pixels
- image resolution of at least 72 dpi
- must have a transparent background
You can use many image editing tools to create an image with a transparent background. As an example, here's how you could prepare images using Adobe Photoshop.
Open the image in Adobe, and get its image dimensions. Then create a new image with the same image size dimensions with a transparent background selected. Next, click on original image and click "Select " then "All" to select the entire image. Then click "Edit" then "Copy" to get a copy of the image. then, click on the new image. Then click "Edit" then "Paste" to paste a copy of the image into the new image.
Now, let's figure out the best way to remove the background around the image. If the current image background is all white, you can use the Photoshop "Magic Wand Tool". Select the magic wand image to activate it, then click on the white background of the new image. This will result in a portion (or all if you're lucky) of the white background getting highlighted. If it's all highlighted, just click the "Del" (delete) key on your keyboard. This will delete the hightlighted area. When deleted, the transparent backgound will appear. If all the background you want to remove is deleted, you're all set. Save the image ... "File" then "Save A Copy" and give it a name and save it to the appropriate IMAGE SUB_DIRECTORY for the image type as required by the Landscape Vision product.
If you were not lucky enough to have all the white background removed, then select the Photoshop "Eraser" and use your mouse to erase the other background areas you want to remove. You should zoom in on the image and select the proper Photoshop brush size to erase the image background carefully.
For non-white backgrounds, you will need to use the Photoshop eraser to remove a border around your image. Once you've erased a border that encloses your image, you can now use the "Magic Wand Tool" to select the backgound and erase it.
You may need to use the eraser to clean up background spots not properly deleted. When complete, save the image ... "File" then "Save A Copy" and give it a name and save it to the appropriate IMAGE SUB_DIRECTORY for the image type as required by the Landscape Vision product.
